Couples Counselling in Havant

When a relationship is under strain, the distance between you and your partner can feel far greater than the few miles from Havant into Portsmouth. Whether you're dealing with communication breakdown, a loss of trust, or simply growing apart, couples counselling gives you both a space to be heard and to begin finding your way back to each other.

I'm Marion Morris, a BACP registered counsellor with a Certificate in Working with Couples and over 2,500 hours of one-to-one experience. I see couples from Havant, Emsworth, Hayling Island, Leigh Park and Bedhampton, in person and online.

Couples counselling a short journey from Havant

The A27 makes my Southsea practice an easy journey from Havant and the surrounding villages for in-person sessions in a private, comfortable therapy room.

If getting there together is tricky, telephone and Zoom sessions are always an option and work well for couples across the Havant area, with evening appointments available too.

What couples counselling can help with

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Counselling can help when you are experiencing:

  • • Communication breakdown and feeling unheard
  • • The same arguments repeating without resolution
  • • Loss of trust, including after infidelity
  • • Emotional or physical disconnection and growing apart
  • • Navigating big changes — parenthood, work stress, illness, or loss

A psychodynamic, unbiased approach

I work from a psychodynamic perspective, gently exploring how each of your histories and relationship patterns shape what happens between you now. I don't take sides or hand out verdicts — my role is to help you both feel heard and understand one another more clearly. You can read more about my full approach on the main couples counselling in Portsmouth page.

Sessions and getting started

We begin with a free introductory call so you can both get a sense of how I work. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £65, and can be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. You can read more on the sessions and fees page, learn more about Marion, or explore counselling in Havant more generally.

Common questions about couples counselling in Havant

How far is the practice from Havant?

In-person couples sessions are held at my Southsea practice (PO4 9NZ), a short drive from Havant via the A27. Telephone and Zoom sessions are also available if you'd prefer to meet online.

How much does couples counselling cost?

Couples sessions are £65 for 50 minutes, with a free introductory call first so you can both ask any questions before committing.

Do both partners need to come to every session?

Couples counselling works best when both partners attend together, as the focus is on the relationship between you. Occasionally an individual session can help, and we can discuss what suits your situation during the introductory call.

Is this the same as relationship counselling?

Yes. Couples counselling and relationship counselling describe the same work — focusing on the relationship between you rather than on either person individually.

Ready to Take the First Step?

It's completely normal to feel nervous about reaching out. There's no pressure — you can ask questions, share what's on your mind, or simply see if it feels right. Your first session is a chance to meet me and decide if my approach works for you.
